OWNERSHIP AND INVENTORSHIP OF TECHNOLOGY • Patent owner • Patents generated from technologies developed by KSU constituents or technologies developed by non-KSU individuals who choose to use the services of the Intellectual Property Program at KSU, are owned by KSU. • Patent will be issued with student’s name as the inventor and KSU as the assignee (owner) in order to preserve the inventor’s moral and financial privileges.

OWNERSHIP AND INVENTORSHIP OF TECHNOLOGY (Cont.) • KSU owns a technologyinvented by a student if: • The technologywasdeveloped in the normal course of work or study of a KSU constituent (affiliatedindividual or entitywith KSU). • The technologywasdevelopedunder a KSU grant or contract. • Extensive use of KSU facilities and resourceswas made.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) RIGHTS • Software owner • The software and all graduation project (IT496/IT497) documentation is the property of KSU. • Students are not allowed to market the software theydeveloped. It ismandatory to consult KSU IPTL (IntellectualProperty and Technnology Transfert) for thispurpose.
