  1. Project MerlinWOC60:Wind Output Converter to 60Hz Team Tammy Okubo Will Acorda Meghan Tisdell • Advisor • Dr. Wayne Lu • Industry Representative • Ms. Swetha VaradharajanIntel University of Portland School of Engineering

  2. Overview • Introduction • Scorecard • Additional Accomplishments • Plans • Issues/Concerns • Conclusions University of Portland School of Engineering

  3. Introduction zoom in University of Portland School of Engineering

  4. Scorecard Tasks Completed: • Completed Design Review • Measured and recorded output information from UPS • Ordered parts • Shortcoming(s): • Complete circuit design and simulation • Team Merlin was not able to complete circuit design, but will be finalizing the circuit and its components this week. This was due to the fact that emphasis was placed on completing some sort of simulation using PSPICE, B2Spice, etc. However, they have been advised by there advisor to start building and not worry about simulation at this point. University of Portland School of Engineering

  5. Additional Accomplishments • Stand built for AIR-X University of Portland School of Engineering

  6. Plans • Complete Theory of Operations 0.9 • Finalize circuit design • Construct and test the design (circuit) • Build battery bank • Receive all the parts ordered University of Portland School of Engineering

  7. Milestones University of Portland School of Engineering

  8. Concerns/Issues • Behind schedule Solution: Keep focused and commit the team to the deadlines specified. No other choice! • Building without having done a complete simulation - Could not simulate using software such as PSPICE last semester and during Christmas Break. Advised to stop simulating and start the building process as simulation will take too much time. Solution: Extra safety/careful verifications of numbers/values University of Portland School of Engineering

  9. Conclusions • Design Review Approved • AIR-X put together (Stand and device interfaced) • Ordered Parts • Plans: • Theory of Operations 0.9 • Finalize circuit design • Build battery bank • Construct and test design (circuit) • Receive all the parts ordered • Many changes have occurred with ‘Milestones’ and therefore, no choice but to keep to those deadlines • Any Questions?
