Finance • The 2015 committee will start the year with a positive bank balance • Managing over $80,000 per year • 2014 continues to show much more individual recording/accountability thanks to Deirdre and her Ipad and card swiper, still need improvement • Need payment for each event paid on line BEFORE play • Missed/Owed about 4 rounds…..that’s a $160 loss to the society

Membership • 63 members as of 24/1/2015 • Returning Clint, possibly Blake • 8 prospective members here…….welcome • 3 out of town members • 2 honorary life time members • $200 entrance fee/$25 for members who introduce new ones • Renewal $160, includes 4 raffle tickets ($80) and USGA handicap ($45) • 20% discount at BR, OH, RF 364 days a year • Discussed inviting other pub golfers to join

Tournaments cont’d • $80 fee Prizes pro rated by turnout • 2 CTP prizes (free rounds) • Free drink tab for several hours, 40% off food • Strokeplay prizes ($500, $300, $200, $100) • Single Flight tournament ($500, $400, $300, $100) • Matchplay $3500 Winner, $1700 runner up, $800 losing semi, $300 losing ¼ final

  10. Flight Tournaments • Single flight this year • Average of best 4 scores • Winner Wayne • Tie 2nd Justin and Klaus • Tie 3rd Robin and Stevie • Paid $600, $500, $300, $100, respectively

  11. Ryder Cup • Limited to 16 per team • ROTW victors again (two in a row) after a long time!!!, led by Captain Schermerhorn and Vice Captain Yours truly • 9 holes foursomes, 9 holes best ball, 9 holes singles at Raspberry • Drawing for pairings at Ned’s • Changed back to 1 day event.

  12. Inter Pub Tournament 1st ever event Ned’s, O’Sullivans, O’Faolains, Breeze 28 players at Raspberry Great “craic” as we say Will be a regular event/maybe 3 or 4 times a year

  14. Charity/Fisher House • We are donating $1500 for 2014 • We have donated almost $60,000 to date • WW event?

Annual Raffle: • Draw tonight/600 tickets/$20 each • 4 round trip tickets to Ireland with car and accommodation ($4,000) • Renewal includes 4 tickets • Needed your help and got it!!!!!!! • We sold EVERY ticket (4 on behalf of WW) • Thanks everyone, especially Pat (75)!!!!!! And Jay, Wayne, Rob, Mike F and John P (20+) and Deirdre, Kevin, Dom, Graham, Jim, Mairtin, Justin, Mike P (10+) • My fault for the delay but, in reality, the AGM is perfect for the draw….I lucked out SELLING ALL 600 TICKETS IS CRITICAL TO OUR SUCCESS!

Plans for 2015 • Matchplay payments early……….seriously!!! • Dues payments early………seriously • New courses….done • No matchplay unless you played 3 events in 2014 or play one event prior to the 2015 draw • Reinstitute trip to the Sun!!...Done but not the sun so much!!! • RECEIPTS FOR EVERYTHING!!!! • Have regular inter pub matches • More sponsorship/members profile

Handicaps for 2015 • Member handicaps are maintained by VSGA • Serious new rules being continued this year • Flight results prove the handicaps are working • Must pay by 3/31 in order to maintain • All questions about handicaps should be directed to: MIKE FOSTER • mike.foster@sherwin.com • 703-929-6487

Handicaps continued • All members have a USGA Handicap number • Scores can be entered at the course computer or by visiting www.vsga.net and entering you name and GHIN number • We will publish the entire Society handicap list before our first event of 2014 • Mobile app • The handicap season in Virginia is 12 months

Handicaps continued • Players are responsible for entering their own scores • Enter an adjusted score for ALL rounds played (Including matchplay) • Failure to enter scores may results in reduction of handicap by the committee • Failure to maintain an accurate handicap is unfair to the player and the entire Society • No one can enter matchplay/strokeplay without valid, demonstrable handicap • Really, really need to be more proactive this year…post, post, post
