The wash water is alkaline and contains high level of chromium, which can leach into the ground and contaminate groundwater. It can also migrate to a storm drain, which can increase the pH levels of area waters and harm aquatic life. • Most builders use hay bales and plastic to try and help with this issue. However, it may work well for cement mixers but not concrete pumps. Working many years in the concrete pumping industry, we see this problem every day. That is why we designed and built our first steel concrete washout container. It is designed for both concrete pumps and cement mixers. • Our largest container measure 8’x10’x12” and will hold 2.71 yards or 74 cubic feet of concrete. It will fit 3 concrete pump washout and several cement mixer washouts. Our smaller container measures 8’x6’x10” and will hold 1.48 yards or 40 cubic feet of concrete. This one will hold one pump washout and several mixer washouts. After the container is full or no longer needed at the jobsite we come pump the water out and take the hardened concrete to the concrete recycling plant. • KC Concrete Washout wants to work together with you to help control this problem.
