  2. Tests and Quizzes • 40% of your grade! • You will have a quiz nearly every week! • Unit examinations every few weeks • Unit tests will also have questions on prior material too! • One final exam at the end of the semester! • Mr. Hwang reserves the right to give you a pop quiz…or a pop test…

  3. Tests and Quizzes • Note, please have a scientific or graphing calculator available. • You will not be able to use your cell phone, Ipod, Gameboy, etc. as a calculator!

  4. Homework and Classwork • Assigned nearly every day. • At a minimum, make an effort on the assignment!

  5. Participation • 5% of the grade. • If you’re not tardy, have no unexcused absences, and respectful in class, you’ll receive full credit for this category.

  6. Grading Scale • Remember, you are now high school students. • Grades are now “permanent” • Grades do matter! • Minimum 2.0 to graduate. • A “D” only gives you course credit.

  7. Lab Safety • Read the syllabus for an overview on lab safety. • To summarize, be safe around chemicals and lab activities. • You will have a lab safety lesson very soon!

  8. Other Rules • If you know you will be absent, let me know, preferably 3 days in advance • No hats, food, or drink in class • Plagiarism or cheating will result in no credit for the assignment • Two bathroom/locker passes per quarter • Each additional use, -0.5% toward participation
