  3. Interphase • Chromosomes make a copy of themselves.

  4. Prophase • Copies of chromosomes fasten together • Nuclear membrane disappears.

  5. Metaphase • Chromosomes line up along the center.

  6. Anaphase • Chromosomes split apart and are pulled to opposite ends of cells.

  7. Telophase • Chromosomes become hard to see; cells split and 2 nuclear membranes form. • Two daughter cells are formed.
