  3. Demographics • Population (2010 census): 1,442 • Total MHS school enrollment for the 2012-2013 school year was: 289. For the 2013-14 school year we have: 273 • The graduating class of 2013 had an enrollment of: 76. • 2014 = 68 • 2015 = 68 • 2016 = 76 • 2017 = 61

WHAT ARE WE DOING FOR RTI? • Rigorous curriculum has improved instruction for all students – GRR as well as college/AP classes • Using PLC time to look at multiple data points for students and using that data to make decisions • Creating opportunities for small group instruction in class • Documentation and communication logs • SNAP • Enrichment courses

Rti Committee • Consists of: • High School Principal • Academic Advisor/Social Studies Teacher • Science Teacher • Reading Specialist/English Teacher • Special Education Teacher • Math Teacher • Director of Auxiliary Services • Meet for a full day every 6 weeks to review process, documentation, data

What is advisement? • 10-14 students with one faculty advisement leaders • These advisement leaders stay with their group of students throughout their high school career • Year 1 • 2 times per month • 22 minutes • Lesson Day • Year 2 • Daily • 24 minutes – MS and HS • Lesson Day, Computer Lab Day, and Grade Check Day, Team Building Day

  19. What is the role of an advisor? • Students go to person • Here to help students be successful • Help students develop their educational and career plan • Grade Checks • Course Scheduling one on one with an adult from school • Mentor • Screen for students needing more assistance

  20. So, what do we do in advisement? • Advisement periods are 24 minutes long • During this time they have lessons on a variety of topics that will help prepare students to be successful in high school and successful after high school • Learn how to develop their student portfolio

What is the portfolio? • Each student at Mishicot High School develops a student portfolio • The purpose of the portfolio is for students to see and be able to show the link between what they did during high school with what they are going to do after high school • The portfolio is a tool to show student growth and their preparedness for life after high school

  45. How do our students perform on the ACT? • 2011-12 ACT results, MHS had highest ACT scores in the county! • 2012-13 over 70% of our students took the ACT

College Course Offerings 2010-11 • 2010-11 = 12 college credits • AP Courses: AP Psychology, AP Calculus • College Credit Courses: • We offered Honors English and Advanced Chemistry for dual credit through Silver Lake College. We offered Large Animal Science through LTC. • Articulated Credit: The following classes were articulated with Lakeshore Technical College: • Computer Applications, Accounting 1, Advanced Accounting.

College Course Offerings 2011-12 • 2011-12 = 18 college credits • AP classes offered at MHS: AP Calculus, AP Psychology • Other AP classes were available through distance education and online providers. • College Credit Courses: • We offered Honors English and Advanced Chemistry for dual credit through Silver Lake College. We offered Large Animal Science, AP Psychology, Medical Terminology, Marketing through Lakeshore Technical College. • Articulated Credit: The following classes were articulated with Lakeshore Technical College: • Computer Applications, Accounting 1, Advanced Accounting, Marketing, College Math, Mini Chopper, Research and Inquiry.
