REFERENCE POINTS. Relating a part of the vehicle to some part of the roadway. This relationship is a helpful visual reference of your vehicle in it ’ s operating space. It will help you to know your vehicle ’ s position at all times. FRONT LIMITATION.

  1. REFERENCE POINTS • Relating a part of the vehicle to some part of the roadway. • This relationship is a helpful visual reference of your vehicle in it’s operating space. • It will help you to know your vehicle’s position at all times.

  2. FRONT LIMITATION Knowing where the front end of your vehicle is when you are: • AT INTERSECTIONS • IN A STOPPING POSITION • PERPENDICULAR PARKING

  3. FRONT LIMITATION • WHERE ARE YOUR VISUAL REFERENCE POINTS FOR FRONT LIMITATION?

  4. FRONT LIMITATION • The first one is, from your line of sight through the driver’s side mirror to the curb.

  5. FRONT LIMITATION • The second one is, from your line of sight through the passenger’s side mirror to the curb.

  6. FRONT LIMITATION • Together they will help you determine where the front limitation of your vehicle is.

  7. REAR LIMITATION Knowing where the rear end of your vehicle is when you are: • BACKING POSITION • PERPENDICULAR PARKING

  8. REAR LIMITATION • WHERE ARE YOUR VISUAL REFERENCE POINTS FOR REAR LIMITATION?

  9. REAR LIMITATION • The first one is, from your line of sight through the driver’s side rear window post to the curb.

  10. REAR LIMITATION • The second one is, from your line of sight through the rear passenger’s side door post to the curb.

  11. REAR LIMITATION • Together they will help you determine where the rear limitation of your vehicle is.

  12. RIGHT SIDE • LANE POSITION # 3 • RIGHT SIDE CURB PARKING • Parrallel to the curb (0-12 inches away)

  13. RIGHT SIDE • Your line of sight reference is the middle of your vehicle to the curb.

  14. LEFT SIDE • LANE POSITION # 2 • LEFT SIDE CURB PARKING (like on a one-way street). • (3-6 INCHES)

  15. LEFT SIDE • Your line of sight reference is the crack line between your left fender and hood of your vehicle to the curb.

  16. LANE POSITION # 1 • CENTER OF YOUR LANE. • CAR IS 3 FEET AWAY FROM LINE TO RIGHT OR LEFT

  17. LANE POSITION # 1 • The first one is, from your line of sight through the driver’s side left fender to the center line.

  18. LANE POSITION # 1 • The second one is, from your line of sight through the passenger’s side right fender crack and hood of the vehicle to the edge of the roadway or fog line.

  19. LANE POSITION # 1 • Together they will help you determine your path of travel if you are in the center of your lane
