  3. Step 1 • 1: You will need to put on your water garments unless you want to use your every day clothes.

  4. Step 2 • 2:This next step will require good judgment skills because you will need to find an area between some rocks (obviously under the water) but not so deep that you can’t see the rope and squid.

  5. Step 3 • Set down the stick and wait until you see crabs grab onto the squid.

  6. Step 4(yes it’s long I know) • After there’s about two or more crabs on the squid, reach down and do one of 3 things. 1: Grab the squid with the crabs on it.2: Grab a crab or two off of the squid. If you’re going to do this step you are going to know how to hold a crab. To hold a crab grab it by the rear-end, but not too far back or too far forward.3: Lift the stick out of the ground and just pull the crabs off the squid or just shake them off into a bucket full of water. WARNING: The squid may attract eels and/or lobsters.

  7. Step 4 continued • To hold a crab grab it by the rear-end, but not too far back or too far forward.3: Lift the stick out of the ground and just pull the crabs off the squid or just shake them off into a bucket full of water. WARNING: The squid may attract eels and/or lobsters.

  8. Tips • If you’re interested in doing more than catching crabs try playing a game that I usually play “Name that crab” in this game you keep track of the different crabs that you found and compare to earlier trips or to each other if there’s more than one of you.
