  3. PLTW District Contract • 5 year agreement • Mandatory training • Mandatory purchases • After 5th year the district has the opportunity to break away from PLTW

  4. Training • Two week summer training at affiliate universities around the country • Very intense • Teach whole course in two weeks

RRHS - A Nationally Certified Pre-Engineering Program • RRHS - first in NM to accomplish this • State is looking to us to lead the state movement for Engineering & Design education • NMSU – New Mexico’s PLTW Affiliate University • Community College’s across the state • They see high school programs as pipe-lines • Santa Fe • Los Lunas • Las Cruces • Las Vegas • etc

  7. Budget • $5,000 training per course (includes required laptop for the teacher) • Courses have materials, equipment, software, computer requirements, lap set up, workbenches • Each course can vary in expense

  8. Apprenticeship Program • RRHS junior and senior students working for Engineering firms, Architectural firms or other businesses that use the skills that they develop in the ACADEMY. • Go to www.rrps.net – to the high school link – to academies – to Engineering & Design – to Apprenticeship program
