  1. Which number (from 1 to 9) is your planet from the Sun? Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun.

  2. What does it look like inside? Saturn's interior is probably composed of a core of iron, nickel and rock (silicon and oxygen compounds), surrounded by a deep layer of metallic hydrogen, an intermediate layer of liquid hydrogen and liquid helium and an outer gaseous layer.

  3. Electrical current within the metallic hydrogen layer is thought to give rise to Saturn's planetary magnetic field, which is slightly weaker than Earth's and around one-twentieth the strength of Jupiter's

  4. Whatis the surfacemadeof? Saturn is a gas planet so it doesn't really have a surface. It is made up mostly of hydrogen. It has a solid core though, which has metallic hydrogen.

  5. What is the atmosphere made of? Saturn troposphere is divided into three layers or regions. The first two layers are made up of clouds of the element ammonia and underneath the two layers on the third layer the temperature is zero degrees celsius

  6. Is it hotter or colder than Earth? What is the temperature? Saturn is both hotter and colder than Earth. Saturn is a gas giant planet with a deep atmosphere of hydrogen, crushingly dense near the rocky core. The outer clouds are too cold, more than a hundred degrees below freezing, but the pressure farther down raises the temperature to hotter than the surface of the Sun.

  7. The atmosphere of Saturn is colder than the Earth, because one, it is further away from the sun, and two, it does not have an atmosphere like the Earth's, which keeps in heat. Temperatures on Saturn are normally about 88°K, temperatures on the vortex often reach as high as 151°K, believed to be the warmest spot on Saturn.

  8. How many Earth Years does it take for the planet you chose to orbit the Sun? Nowadays Saturn is 8.833 A.U. away from Earth. Saturn is 1,321,416,800 kilometres from Earth and 821,190,000 miles from Earth today.

  9. Are there any myths or legends – tell about one In Roman mythology, Saturn, who was the Roman god of agriculture, fled Greece and settled in Italy after losing a battle with Jupiter. Saturn became the king of Latium and ruled over a golden age of peace and prosperity. During this time, he taught the people how to plant and tend crops and how to lead civilized lives. His festival was the Saturnalia, a celebration beginning on December 17 and ending December 25. During Saturnalia, businesses closed, people exchanged presents, and slaves were given the freedom to do and say what they wished. Christians later honoured the last day of Saturnalia as the date of the birth of Jesus. Saturn also gave his name to the day of the week known as Saturday.

  10. Does it have any moons? How many? What are their names? Saturn has at least 62 moons, 53 of which have formal names and 9 are provisional.

  11. Rings of Saturn Saturn's rings are made of billions of pieces of ice, dust and rocks. Some of these particles are as small as a grain of salt, while others are as big as houses. Saturn has six main rings, each composed of thousands of tiny ringlets. The rings are named by letter -- A, B, C, D, E and F
