  3. Our Goals • Demonstrate… • a love for our Lord Jesus Christ • a love for our students as we teach our subject area

  4. Goals continued • assist parents in preparing each child academically for sixth grade.

  5. Supplies • Please replenish your child’s school supplies for the 2nd Semester- • Paper, pencils, pens, composition notebooks, etc.

  6. DISCIPLINE NOTES • A level one discipline report will be determined by the teacher.

  7. Level 1: after school detention • Level 2: Saturday School (requiring a $20 fee) and a parent conference • Level 3: suspension, or dismissal at the discretion of the principal

  8. Homework policy • 1 day late: 10 points off • 2 days late: 20 points off • 3 days late: ZERO on assignment • Projects and book reports are 20 points per day late • TEACHERS will contact parents when a ZERO is given

  9. PLEASE, PLEASE… • Cell phones are to be kept in book bag at school. • No iPods • No iPads • No electronics

  22. Jet Plane Parents • They say, “You’re in fifth grade now. You’re on your own.” • “What do you mean he doesn’t do his homework? He’s in his room for 3 hours every night.” • They are unaware of homework, assignments, reports, project due dates, etc.

  25. They flew the same mission as the bombers but did not take over the plane. They escorted the bombers to the target. • Fifth grade is a transition year. Students transition from assistance from the parents to an independent student in middle school. • Supervise, but don’t take over!
