  1. Meeting AgendaFebruary XX, 2004 HYPERION ERAU

  2. AGENDA • White Paper Production • System Test • System Test Plan • Systems Engineering • Cost Analysis • Questions and Additions HYPERION ERAU

  3. THERMAL PAPER • Were the evaporative cooling calculations I sent correct? • Can evaporative cooling be included in the paper? • What is the status of the paper? • Will a copy be ready for submittal on Feb. 15th? Is a copy ready now? HYPERION ERAU

  4. PERFORMANCE PAPER • An abstract was not submitted in time for 05 JPC • What was the status before work was stopped? • Can we ready a version for 06 JPC? HYPERION ERAU

  5. MONTE CARLO SIM. • Do we have a 1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000 track run completed, realistic beams, inside/outside shield? • Is there any graphical data to be documented yet? • What were the effects to Isp, thrust, ect… • Consider writing a short white paper for 06 JPC on Sim. (authors should only include those involved, i.e. Smith, Cox, Tiradoni) • $Cost$ HYPERION ERAU

  6. TEST LOCATION • Where will test occur? (ERAU PR, Lawrence Livermore, Las Alamos) • When will the test occur? (rough date) • These questions may be answered on a component level later in the meeting. • $Cost$ HYPERION ERAU

  7. TEST STAND • Is the Cavendish Balance Complete? • Is the stand calibrated? Do we know how we are going to calibrate the stand? • Document test stand and calibration technique • Have we considered how we are going to interface the thruster/sphere to the stand? • $Cost$ HYPERION ERAU

  8. VACUUM CHAMBER • What pressure are we going to test at? Consider effects such as out-gassing, convection currents, ect… • Will we use our own chamber or use another facility? • Consider size of penning trap, test stand to fit inside, and power interface requirements • $Cost$ HYPERION ERAU

  9. POSITRON STORAGE • Will we use the Positronics LLC Penning Trap? • Exactly how many e+’s does the trap store? • Do we know the method of ejecting the e+’s from the trap? • Does the discharge follow a linear or gaussian distribution? • What are the power requirements? • $Cost$ HYPERION ERAU

  10. DATA REDUCTION EQUIPMENT • Has the methods of data reduction been considered? • How much if any EMI shielding is needed for the electronics? • $Cost$ HYPERION ERAU

  11. SYSTEM TEST PLAN • We must start looking at integration of subsystems (power, data reduction equipment, test stand, thruster, ect…) • We must get ready to start writing test procedures HYPERION ERAU

  12. SYSTEMS ENGINEERING • Start documenting all research and white papers. • Document design and performance of test equipment (i.e. test stand) • Update Master Schedule (ASAP) • Update Contact Sheet (ASAP) • Completion of web site HYPERION ERAU

  13. COST ANALYSIS • Compile receipts of past expenditures and organize into a running list • Finish analysis of future costs for proposals • $Cost$ HYPERION ERAU

  14. QUESTIONS or ADDITIONS • ??? HYPERION ERAU
