How ? – Assess , Inform , Record , Report Assess Assess the Risk – for teaching and for rooms • Be prepared - complete risk assessments as part of planning for teaching –update or add to if needed. *** Inform • There is health and safety/first aid/safeguarding /complaints and behaviour, information on walls and in handbooks • tell students show students

  3. Student has broken leg - Risk assessment required for safe adjustments to environment and to inform all members of team

  4. Record • Accident ? Incident ? If you deal with an Accident or Incident – record books in general office /arts area must be completed within 24hrs of event *** • Sign In - if you are not on a registerand ensure your guests sign in Report • To appropriate person – usually your line manager

  5. Safeguarding yourself and others • Do not give your personal information-email/tel.no. • /address etc to anyone you don’t want to call you or visit you at home. Never pass on contact details without permission from the person concerned –take a message and pass that on –don’t get involved • Never promise more than you are willing ,ableor entitled to give. • Remember Swarthmore can only be responsible for what is done in the delivery of your employment duties and then only if you do you best to follow correct procedures.
