  2. SOME OBSERVATIONS: • The latent demand for all nurses from LDCs nurses to provide all healthcare needs looks likely to increase; • and the latent demand to provide long term healthcare (LTC) is especially great. • Latent demand picks up most notable after 2020 in the EU and in the Americas.

  3. Immigration Policies • Projected latent demand for ALL nurses is not so great (in Europe) because future population growth is “flat.” • However, fast growth of the elderly may generate a latent shortfall of LDC nurses in Europe and the Americas in long term healthcare.
