  1. Top Ten Tips for Success as a Freshman at LO High! Welcome!

  2. Here we go…. • Number 10: Be flexible and keep an open mind! You never know what may come your way, so be open to new experiences.

  3. Number 9: Try something new! High school affords many opportunities; don’t let them pass you by.

  4. Number 8: Volunteer at least once a semester! Check out the many opportunities to do something selfless.

  5. Number 7: Make a new friend! I know this sounds like kindergarten, but try branching out and meeting someone new.

  6. Number 6: Spend at least half-an-hour outside each day! OK, you live in Oregon….it rains a lot. Still, you won’t melt, so make it a priority.

  7. Number 5: Learn how to cope with stress healthfully! Relationships, homework, parents, friendships, activities….deep breathing, yoga, exercise, sleep, talking it out. Fight stress back!

  8. Number 4: Organize, organize, organize! Write it down: homework due dates, appointments, and commitments. Take responsibility!

  9. Number 3: Get involved! In classes In activities (clubs, sports, after school stuff) In your life What is your passion?

  10. Number 2: Think before you act. You make the choices. Celebrate the struggle.

  11. Number 1: Follow the golden rule! For those of you who may have forgotten, that’s treat others as you would have them treat you.
