Operating Plan • Purchasing Materials required for product development: Cloth Pattern(s) Scissors Thread Sewing Machine Serger Needles/Pins Dress Dummy Marking Tools Suppliers of materials to be used in the direct production of products include: Joann Fabric and Craft Store (http://www.joann.com) This supplier has been chosen for reasons of quality, price, availability, and ease of access to customer. Materials are received at the time of order.

Operating Plan • Production Turnaround for product(s) and services offered by D’s Dress shop are as follows: • Pattern, material selection, initial fitting with client: 2-4 days from order placement • Sewing of garment and final fitting before hemming: 1 week. • Final fitting and final alterations 1 week.

  12. Operating Plan • Sales and Marketing Because the business is a startup, during the initial few years, a minimum of 8-10 hours per month will be spent marketing and creating promotional activities for D’s Dress Shop.

  14. Operating Plan • Accounting A simple automated accounting system will be maintained. It is estimated that accounting tasks for D’s Dress Shop will take 1 -2 hours per month.

  15. Section 5 – Distribution • How much time will it take me to deliver products and/or services to the customer? • How will I deliver the products and/or services?

  16. Operating Plan • Distribution Goods will be delivered to the customer’s site using an automobile. Estimated deliver time per order is estimated at 30 minutes or less since all of D’s Dress Shop customers will be located in the same community as the owner.
