  1. Research Fields Key words Observation with X-ray telescope Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Yamagata University High Energy Astrophysics; it’s amazing universe! Professor Shinpei Shibata Astrophysics, Science education Astrophysics, plasmas, particle acceleration, X-ray, gamma-ray, cosmic ray, magneto-hydrodynamics, telescope, star sommelier Introduction Fields for inquire ◎technology : astronomical observatory and related instruments, 3D theatre, Magneto-hydrodynamics, plasma physics. ◎public lectures, science education: all field of astronomy and astrophysics, star sommelier, stars for the life, enjoying starry night. Pulsars are rapidly rotation neutron stars with super strong magnetic field of 1012 G, and emit relativistic electron-positrons. We have shown for the first time with computer simulation that particles are accelerated upto 1012 eV in the pulsar magnetosphere. 研究の今後の展望 Future An artist view of the pulsar Magnetosphere. ・study the structure of the neutron star magnetosphere and their environment; emission mechanism ・popularization of star sommelier as wide as Ocha and Ohana We observe pulsar wind nebulae, magnetars and so on with X-ray telescope, and study origin of radiaton from such objecs. Instruments / facilities To understand univserse reflects on understand ourselves: Results of astrophysics help our life Suzaku (X-ray telescope) Yamagata Astronomical Obsevatory Science aims to understand deeply the principle of nature. If one see that oneself is a part of nature, then science help much for one’s better life. Thus I attempt to contirbute formation of culture through popularization of science.
