  1. NS meeting and plans : the CW search group Michael LandryLIGO Hanford Observatoryfor the CW search grouphttp://www.lsc-group.phys.uwm.edu/pulgroup/LSC meeting, MITNov 4-5, 2006 • Report on meeting with neutron star experts • Publication plans of the continuous waves search group

  2. NS meeting • Some key things we learned • AstroSat : a potential replacement for RXTE • Rate of pulsar discoveries (however, many new ms pulsars are being discovered in globular clusters, which are in general far away, at multi-kpc scales) • Spin rate maximum at 716Hz • Suggestion of emphasizing targeted searches for regions of high stellar density – exotic potential

  3. Scott Ransom NRAO

  4. The observed pulsar sample Duncan Lorimer West Virginia U.

  5. Publication plans • Marquee searches for S5 • Time-domain: preliminary results for GWDAW, first 9-10 months of S5 data • Propose Ap. J. Lett. for Crab result • Separate publication on remaining pulsars for initial S5 data set • Powerflux : spin-0 results complete, multiple spindowns for 8 months of data to be completed, with candidate identification and followup being worked on • Directed search for nearby neutron star RXJ 1856 • S4 run complete, S5 expected by end of year • S5 publication to be written in the new year • Additional papers on the 1 year timescale • S3/S4 TDS – final draft sent out to LSC, next to execomm • S4 PSH incoherent search method – to be recirculated once more to the LSC and then to execomm for approval • S3 final Einsteini@home html writeup quite possibly posted • 1st 3.5 months of S5 : Einstein@home Fstat search
