VERTICAL ALIGNMENT Vertical coherence: When a curriculum is vertically aligned or vertically coherent, what students learn in one lessoen, course, or grade level prepares them for the next lesson, course, or grade level. For this project, we want to examine what we can expect students to know before they come to us and the foundation that they should gain in our classes. We also want to provide project ideas for the diverse grade levels will have at our inservice.
