  2. A- Acupuncture  A system of complementary medicine that involves pricking the skin or tissues with needles, used to alleviate pain

B- Buddism a religion, originated in India by Buddah,  (Gautama) and laterspreading to China, Burma, Japan, Tibet, and parts of southeastAsia, holding that life is full of suffering caused by desire and thatthe way to end this suffering is through enlightenment thatenables one to halt the endless sequence of births and deaths to which one is otherwise subject.

  4. C- Calligraphy East Asian calligraphy is a form of calligraphy widely practised and revered in the Sinosphere.

  5. D- Daoism philosophical system developed by Lao-tzu and Chuang-tzu advocating a simple honest life and noninterference with the course of natural events

  6. E- Empress Wu The first woman to be emperor in China

  7. F- Filial Piety Respect owed to one's parents and ancestors.

  8. G- Great Wall of China A fortified wall in northern China, extending some 1,500 miles (2,400 km) from Kansu province to the Yellow Sea north of Beijing

  9. H- Han Dynasty imperial dynasty that ruled China (most of the time from 206 BC to AD 220) and expanded its boundaries and developed its bureaucracy

  20. S- Silk Road An ancient caravan route that linked Xian in central China with the eastern Mediterranean so they could trade with others

  21. T- Tang Dynasty the imperial dynasty of China from 618 to 907

  22. U- Units of Measurment  definite magnitude of a physical quantity

  23. V- Values The regard that something is held to deserve

  24. W- waterwheel A large wheel driven by flowing water, used to work machinery or to raise water to a higher level.

  25. X- Xia dynasty the first dynasty in China to be described in ancient historical chronicles

  26. Y- Yangtzi River  the longest river of Asia; flows eastward from Tibet into the East China Sea near Shanghai

  27. Z- Zhou dynasty  the imperial dynasty of China from 1122 to 221 BC; notable for the rise of Confucianism and Taoism
