  3. Prayer of Saint Francis Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light, and Where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much Seek to be consoled as to consol; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And, it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

  5. A Prayer for Holy Relationships O merciful God, Grant that we may look upon the defects of our sisters as if they were our own, That we may conceal and be grieved for them; and making Thy love to us, O blessed Jesus, the pattern of our love to them, may we endeavor to promote their eternal welfare. . . Teach us to have compassion for the weakness and frailties of our sisters; To put the best construction on all their actions; To interpret all doubtful things to their advantage, and cheerfully to bear with their real infirmities. Let us abound in Thy love more and more, and in continual prayers and praises to Thee, the God of mercies and all consolation, Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. (Adapted from John Wesley)

  7. A Prayer of Self-giving O Lord Jesus, I give Thee my body, my wealth, My fame, my friends, My liberty, and my life: Dispose of me and of all that is mine, as it seems best to thee. I am now not mine, but Thine; therefore, claim me as thy right, Keep me as Thy charge, and love me as thy child. Fight for me when I am assaulted, heal me when I am wounded, And revive me when I am destroyed. Amen (Adapted from John Wesley)

  8. Women Who Speak

  9. A Prayer for Holy Lives Thou, whose purpose is to kindle, Now ignite us with Thy fire; While the earth awaits Thy burning, With Thy passion us inspire, Overcome our sinful calmness; Rouse us with redemptive shame. Baptize with Thy fiery Spirit; Crown our lives with tongues of flame. Thou, who in Thy holy gospel wills that we should truly live, Make us sense our share of failure; Our tranquility forgive. Teach us courage as we struggle in all liberating strife; Lift the smallness of our vision by Thine own abundant life. (Elton Trueblood, STL#722)
