  1. Do we want this kind of END to our journey If not 2012 , definitely it will be our fate may be in 2052 Green brigade’s efforts for our environment Are ………….. We need to start our efforts to save our environment from the word go, so we as the members of Green Brigade started The only way which can lead us to a green earth is by reducing our carbon foot prints ,so as to make this earthcleaner and greener ECO FRIENDS REVOLUTION

  2. Paper Needs to be saved , in order to minimize fragmentation of forests So we as the members of green brigade have tried our level best To reduce paper consumption - by reducing paper wastage -and increasing the writing space per page

  3. Top margin provides space for 2 LINES Side margin constitutes of space of about of the 1/6th LINE

  4. INVESTIGATION There are 24lineson a page . Using side and top margins we add 6 linesto a page , hence adding 12 linesto a sheet. 1/6 * 24= 4( from side margin + 2( from top margin Total 6 linesper page

  5. We made 3000 students to use the margins for the last year in about their 10 note-books As the note-book has 194 sheets we save 2328 lines (194x12) or 97 pages or 48.5 sheets Hence saving about 18 trees ( as one big tree can produce up to 80500 sheets ) hence saving 1455000 sheets which can constitute the raw material for 7500 note-books We saved 18 trees

  6. We have also set up a paper recycling unit We as eco crusader’s not only save paper by wise use but also give our level best to recycle every little part to minimize our carbon foot prints Students take up projects to recycle the waste paper collected in special bins every month

  7. USE OF MOBILE PHONES

CAUSES AND RESULTS -Of excessive use of mobiles The phones may leak highly toxic metals . like Ni Cd battery can damage -nervous system, -reproductive developmental problems, -cancer and genetic impacts. Dumping mobile phones creates long term pollution risk to the environment. Mobile’s waves majorly harm the bees n other birds.

  9. SOLUTIONS REUSE by recycling If you Re-cyclea mobile phone, you avoid the need for a new one to be produced . Green Brigade Advised students to -- Reduce Excessive messaging -- Switch off cell at night -- prefer calls over texts

  10. We have also started use of micro scale chemistry TO REDUCE CHEMICAL USAGE, HENCE SAVE ENVIRONMENT

  11. Other SOLUTIONS by ECO FRIEND’S REVOLUTION • We as members of GREEN BRIGADE • Have encouraged students - to use ball pens and refill it. - to use the same pen body and mechanical pencil for 6 months or more. - to do rough work using pencils.

  12. BENEFITS OF CAR POOLING Carpooling is also socially economical. Carpooling will save YOU money Carpooling allows you to share the cost of gas and parking our teachers also have started car pooling along with students

  13. We have switched over from conventional electricity to electricity generated by solar energy A solar geyser plant has been set up on our school’s roof WE ALSO HAVE CHANGED OUR OLDMORE ENERGY CONSUMING ARTICLES BY NEW ENERGY EFFICIENT ONES SAVE ELECTRICITY

  14. OSMOSIS Reverse Most of the people are unaware about the fact of efficiency of R.O regarding water usage. Its efficiency is 5% to 25%. So as a result a huge amount of water is led out. GREEN BRIGADE collects waste water in a separate tank. We also use it for cleaning purposes

  17. A Step Forward Green Brigade gifts a sapling to students on their birthdays. . We organize class wise plantation programmes to some parents on PTMs… Moreover we have made a tradition to inaugurate our school celebrations by planting at least a sapling. to teachers on their birthdays & anniverseries
