  2. What is Subject Group ? Subject Group • Subject Group function is designed for use by most secondary schools that provide level-based elective subjects • A number of Subject Groups will be offered for students from different classes of the same class level • Each student is allowed to take only one subject group and deemed to study all subjects in the selected group This function can only be maintained when the school information is not confirmed

  5. Create subject group Select search criteria Create Subject Group • To update – Click subject group code hyperlink to edit the details of the subject group • To delete – Check the box beside subject group code and click “Delete” button

  7. Select Class Level Create Subject Group

  8. Type in group name GrpA Create Subject Group

  9. Add subjects to the group GrpA GrpC GrpB Add Subjects to Group

  10. Add new subject to group Add Subjects to Group

  11. Select subject Add Subjects to Group

  12. Select MOI Add Subjects to Group

  13. Select teacher Add Subjects to Group • Subject teacher list is sorted by English name. Shared teaching staff from trusted WebSAMS (e.g. AM/PM schools) will be placed at the bottom of teacher list

  14. Type no. of Periods/Cycle Check “With Teaching Period” Indicator if necessary Add Subjects to Group

Notes for Subject Group Notes • The following key fields must be unique for a Subject Group: School Year + School Level + School Session + Class Level + Subject Group Code • Subject Group Subjects must NOT overlap with the Compulsory Subjects, Elective Subjects or Cross-Class Subjects within a class • If students have been assigned to a Subject Group, you are not allowed to: delete the subject group, delete the subject group subject, update the subject MOI and detach the relevant class(es) from the subject group. You need to remove all students from the subject group in Student module

  23. Press ESCAPE to return Notes for Subject Group Notes • You can unselect a subject component with assessment records. You will be prompted for confirmation to DELETE ALL assessment records for the subject component • When a Subject Group is deleted, its attached class linkages will also be deleted. If this results in the removal of a subject from a class level, the associated assessment settings of that subject will be deleted
