The country is bordered by:

France is located in Western Europe.

  • The English Channel (la Manche) to the north

  • Belgium (la Belgique) and Luxembourg to the northeast

  • Germany and Switzerland to the east

  • Italy to the southeast

  • The Mediterranean sea to the south

  • Spain and Andorra to the southwest

  • The Atlantic ocean to the west
