  5. Steer Straight – The story of Jay Waugh Jay died in car crash in October 2004. His mother was passionate about getting message out to other young drivers. The concept of a DVD was born. Funding from numerous sources, family functions, local businesses. But we hit a few hurdles, thanks to IanToohill it all became possible. DVD has been used this year in 7 sessions, approx 700 local students. It covers many issues. Let’s have a look.

  6. Jay’s death was not an accident. The message: many factors, drugs, fatigue, speed, inexperience. We discuss who was effected by Jay’s death. Ecstasy – it’s effects. Better decision making in life.

  7. Ropes Program • A revolutionary program spreading state wide and interstate. • A one day program with 1st time offenders. • Teamwork, bridge building with police, discussion session. • A second chance. • Successful participants have their charges withdrawn. • Reducing re-offending rates. • Not a reward!

  8. Other issues • We have just finished Operation Zero – zero tolerance to year 12 “muck up” in Darebin and Whittlesea.
