  1. Objective: Using a double bubble map, crossword puzzle, and by doing a lab, I will understand the differences and similarities between photosynthesis and cellular respiration. -Catalyst: (ONLY WRITE THE ANSWER under Wednesday) Write everything you know about cellular respiration. Do autotrophs do this? Do heterotrophs do this? (you may use your notes). Wednesday’s Brainjog10/3

  2. Photosynthesis and cell respiration lab

  3. Managers: • Experimenter Manager • Will be the only person that will use the chemicals. This person will always use gloves and will always use goggles. • Clean-up Manager • Will clean up spills, and makes sure everything is cleaned and ready for the next class. • Water Manager • Will use a graduated cylinder and a funnel (look at the white board if you need help) to get 10mL of water • Label Manager • At the end of the lab, this person will put tape on both flasks and will put the GROUP # and the PERIOD!

Methods (procedures): • The materials manager will make sure that you have a funnel, you will use 2 flasks ONLY, a graduated cylinder,, and BTB solution. • The water manager will get 10mL of water in the graduated cylinder and will place it inside each flask (LOOK AT THE WHITE BOARD IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT THESE ARE)

  5. 3) Answer Discussion Question #1 by yourself for 3 minutes and then the teacher gives the signal, you will share with your group and ask your teacher for a stamp. • 4) The experimenter manager will put on gloves, and goggles. This person place 50 drops of BTB into BOTH flask with water. Use a straw to blow bubbles into the BTB solution for a minute. Do this for BOTH flasks.

  6. 5) Everyone should work on Discussion Questions 2 and 3 on your own for 3 minutes. When your teacher gives you a signal, you will share with your group, make sure to get another stamp • 6) Make your observations on the results section A of your Lab sheet. (The first two boxes under results). Ask for a stamp when done.

  7. Ask the teacher for Elodia leaves, place it inside the test tube. 8) Answer questions #4-6 by yourself for 5 minutes and then check your answers with your group.

  8. 9) Make observations on what you saw on part B of your results section of your lab sheet. 10) The label manager will label both beakers with the PERIOD # and GROUP #. 11) Answer the questiionon the CONCLUSION section of the Lab handout.
