Schematic picture of the luciferase-based recombination substrate Recombination substrate consists of two overlapping truncated parts of luciferase gene; first part (LU) lack the stop codon, whereas the second part (UC) lacks the 35S promoter and ATG. Recombination occurring between two homologous regions results in the restoration of the transgene sequence and function.
