Geometry: K.K.G.2 Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size. • Students will be able to: • Identify squares, circles, triangles in various orientations • Identify these shapes’ characteristics (# of sides and corners) • Classify everyday objects as one of three shapes

  3. How many sides? • A side is a straight line that connects the shape

  4. Square 1 2 4 3

  5. Triangle 1 2 3

  6. Circle 0

  7. How many corners? • A corner is the pointy part on the shape where two lines meet

  11. Shapes can change • If I turn a shape, it is still the same shape. • If I change the color, it is still the same shape!
