  2. THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER Proposition: Once Salvation has been freely given by God it cannot be lost or forfeited. Eternal Security is not a license to sin.

  3. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. Matthew 24:13 (NKJV)

  4. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galatians 6:7 (NKJV)

  5. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. John 10:28-29 (NKJV)

  6. • A real issue • An emotional issue • A specific issue • A strategic issue

  7. When God saves a person, He permanently breaks the grip of sin and death. Once and for all He gives us an irrevocable relationship with a Savior who promises to protect us by His own power, all the way home. On the human side, this gift is marked at the very least by:

  8. • Conviction of sin (Lk. 18:9-14). • Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Jn. 5:1). • A sense of correction for sin (Heb. 12:3-8). • Radical commitment to Christ (Lk. 14:25-33). • Loving relationships (Jn. 15:9-17).

  9. The Bible offers many serious warnings about the danger of taking salvation for granted. Is there anything a disobedient Christian can lose since he can’t lose salvation?

  10. • Conscious fellowship with God. • The approval of God. • Influence for God. • Love, joy, peace, patience, self-control. • Reward. • Everything else that makes life meaningful.

  11. I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)

  12. But I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day. 2 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV)

  13. These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us. 1 John 2:19 (NLT)

  14. And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ. Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist. 1 John 2:22 (NLT)

  15. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ Matthew 7:22-23 (NLT)
