  1. Seamless Integration and Machine Upgrade

  2. More Than 20+ Years Experiences in Controller Protocols • We now can speak a lot of machine languages • Factory automation: PLCs, inverters, robotic arms, CNC, motors, … • Building automation: BACnet, KNX, … • Smart grid: DL/T 645, IEC 104, … • Automotive automation: CANopen, J1939, … • OPC UA • Industrial equipment • Barcode scanner • Weighing instruments • Tower lights (Alarm lights) • And more …

  3. The Need for a Protocol Gateway • To improve the factory efficiency, monitor day-to-day data is a must. • But, collecting data from machines can be hard. • They all speak different languages (protocols) • An universal protocol is then invented: OPC UA <Control Room> What?? Well Done!

  4. The Need for a Protocol Gateway • To help machines communicate • It may be costly and difficult to use proprietary protocols • Tight budgets always exist • No budget to buy a new machine • Modifying existing ones is preferred • Cost-effective to use standard protocols • OPC UA • MQTT • MODBUS

  5. cMT Gateway Product Line cMT-G01 cMT-G02 (Built-in Wi-Fi) cMT-G03 (Serial Bridge) cMT-G04 (Ethernet Bridge)

  6. Features • OPC UA server and client • Certified OPC UA server • Authorization can be enabled with username/password and X.509 certificate • MQTT server and client • Data logger (EBPro V6.01.02) • Can synchronize to database servers • Event detector (EBPro V6.01.02) • Events can also be synchronized to database servers • Support email events • EasyAccess 2.0 – remote access your machine • Macros for automating day-to-day work or unit conversion • Model-specific features • Ethernet separation – secure your machine network • Support Wi-Fi

  7. Feature | OPC UA Certified • https://opcfoundation.org/products/view/cmt-g01 • Complied with OPC UA standard and interoperable with other products • Certification includes • Compliance testing • Usability (Ease of use) • Behavior (User-expected behavior) • Interoperability (with at least 5 UA clients) • Efficiency (36-hour rally test)

  8. Applications • OEM machine • Brand X PLC • Brand Y HMI (may or may not be Weintek’s) • Use cMT-G01 as OPC UA protocol gateway • With the capability to use EA2.0 pass-through to remotely access the PLCs program (online monitoring, modifying, downloading…)

  9. Applications • A garment/clothing factory collects data using MQTT • Worker efficiency (e.g. sewing speed) • Goods tracking

  10. 1 | cMT-G01 Announced in Jan 2017 • Supports OPC UA/MQTT/MODBUS • Hardware connectivity • 2 separate Ethernet ports • Connects to(1) machine network(2) company/factory network • 3 serial ports (RS232, RS485-2W and RS485-4W) • Connects to 3 different devices at the same time LAN2 LAN1 COM 1 RS232 COM 2 RS485-2/4W COM 3 RS485-2W

  11. Ethernet Connects to Siemens,Rockwell, Mitsubishi, etc. PLCs or controllers - 1 x Factory WAN- 1 x Machine LAN And more… - EasyAccess2.0 - Emails - Time Synchronization 1 | cMT-G01 OPC UA/MQTT/EA 2.0 Serial Connects to Siemens S7-200/300, Rockwell, etc. - COM1 RS232 - COM2 RS485 2W - cOM3 RS485 2W/4W Use additional comm. Interface of PLC (serial or Ethernet)

  12. 2 | cMT-G02 (Built-in Wi-Fi) Announced in Jan 2018 • IIoT gateway with Wi-Fi capability • No need to re-wire Ethernet cables • Hardware connectivity • 1 Ethernet port • Connects to machine network • 1 Wi-Fi interface • Connects to company/factory network • 3 serial ports (RS232, RS485-2W and RS485-4W) • Connects to 3 different devices at the same time Wi-Fi LAN COM 1 RS232 COM 2 RS485-2/4W COM 3 RS485-2W

  13. Ethernet Connects to Siemens,Rockwell, Mitsubishi, etc. PLCs or controllers - 1 x Factory Wi-Fi- 1 x Machine LAN And more… - EasyAccess2.0 - Emails - Time Synchronization 2 | cMT-G02 (Built-in Wi-Fi) OPC UA/MQTT/EA2.0 Serial Connects to Siemens S7-200/300, Rockwell, etc. - COM1 RS232 - COM2 RS485 2W - cOM3 RS485 2W/4W Use additional comm. Interface of PLC (serial or Ethernet)

  14. 3 | cMT-G03 (Serial Bridge) • Upgrade your existing serial-based controller and touch panel without modifying any code • Transparent (pass-through) between COM1 and COM2 • Protocol analyzer for PLC address mapping (like a Wireshark for serial ports) • Hardware connectivity • 1 Ethernet port • Connects to machine network • Transparent serial port (RS232, RS485-2W or RS485-4W) • One for existing HMI and one for existing PLC COM 1 In Serial bridge COM 2 Out

  15. 3 | cMT-G03 (Serial Bridge) • Similar to a serial-based Wireshark Company/Factory Network MQTT, OPC UA, MODBUS RS232/RS485-2W/4W

  16. 3 | cMT-G03 (Serial Bridge) OPC UA/MQTT/EA2.0 No additional serial interface needed serial serial serial

  17. 3 | cMT-G03 (Serial Bridge) Supported Drivers *1: For token-based bus, such as MPI, no pass-through is needed.

  18. 4 | cMT-G04 (Ethernet Bridge) • IIoT gateway with Ethernet bridge • Save wiring cost with built-in Ethernet switch • SW1 and SW2 connect to machine network • LAN port connects to company/factory network SW1 Switch (With IP) SW2 LAN

  19. 4 | cMT-G04 (Ethernet Bridge) Company/Factory Network

  20. 4 | cMT-G04 (Ethernet Bridge) MACHINE With HMI OPC UA/MQTT/EA2.0 No additional serial interface needed LAN/WAN SW1 Ethernet SW2
