  1. Cy Woods Girls Golf Like life, golf can be humbling. However, little good comes from brooding about mistakes we’ve made. The next shot, in golf or life, is the big one.

  2. A Little History • Cy Woods opened in 2006/2007 with 9th and 10th graders only. The girls competed in Varsity competition this first year and despite the new program and their youth, they advanced to the Regional Tournament. • 2007-2008 - District Champions with No Seniors!! Undefeated Season through District! Advanced to the Regional Tournament • 2008-2009 will be the first Senior Class at Cy Woods and Lauryn Vermaas is our first graduating golfer who will be going to school at Texas A&M. • 2009-2010 continues its pathway to success. Led by senior Casey Gilbert, the Cy Woods golf team clenches another District Championship and advances to the regional tournament. • 2010-2011- The Cy Woods team again advances to the regional tournament with a 2nd place district finish. In addition, Courtney Zietsman wins the District Championship with at 73 and 75 score.

  3. Mission Statement • MISSION STATEMENT: • A Lady Wildcat will not only represent herself, but she represents her school, her team, her community, and her family. She will gain the tools necessary to conduct her self in such a manner as to bring credit to these institutions. We will provide safe and supportive learning environments for our athletes and coaches. We will teach competitiveness through fundamentals and encourage love of the sport. Cy Woods Golf provides outlets for athletes to learn life long skills such as teamwork, integrity, communication, competition, and positive thinking.

  4. Philosophy Statement • PHILOSOPHY: • Cy Woods Golf is driven by our core values. “Our Core Values,” are innovation, motivation, teamwork, integrity and the pursuit of excellence. Our core values and the, “Pursuit of Excellence,” becomes our philosophy. Winning itself, is not the defining value, it is the out come. Remember our Core Values and the Pursuit of Excellence is worth doing, even if no one else can see it.

  7. District Golf Tournament 2008 • Cy Woods Results! • Cy Woods girls golf had a wonderful day at the District Tournament. We had two teams compete and both teams were medalist. Lauryn Vermaas, Emily Franco, Casey Gilbert, Taylor and Jordan Sloane took first place in District and will be representing our school at Regionals April 21st and 22nd at Eagle Point Golf Course. The Varsity golf girls finished their regular season "Undefeated".  Be sure to cheer these girls on! • Kylee Stouder, Nicole Bell, Brooke Boyd, Grace Duncan, and Meghan Lund took third place at the District Tournament. Many of the girls posted their best scores at this tournament when the pressure was on. They represented our school with success and great character. You girls made Cy Woods #1!

  8. Regional Tournament 2008 • The Cy Woods Girls Golf team did an outstanding job at the Regional Tournament at Eagle Point Golf Club. The girls placed 6th and posted the second lowest team score on day two of 338, which was also the best team score of the year for the Wildcat Team! It was a fun trip and we hope to make it a tradition. Our hats go off to these young ladies for their success on the golf course and in the classroom. Season Overview 2009 • Undefeated Season through District! • District Champions and 3rd place finish • Kayli Quinton – First place medalist, district Tournament and 3rd place finish at Regionals • Regional Tournament – 6th place finish • Jersey Meadows We would like to congratulate our girl’s golf team for demolishing everyone at the CFISD Invitational yesterday. Kayli Quinton, Emily Franco, Casey Gilbert, Courtney Zietsman, and Grace Duncan posted a 361 team score to win the tournament. Kayli Quinton was the first place medalist with a score of 78. Way to go Girls Golf!! Keep up the hard work! • Falcon Point – Klein ISD Invitational Congratulations once again to our Girl’s Golf Team. The A team won the Klein ISD Varsity Invitational by 35 stokes with a team score of 342. The team consisted of Kayli Quinton shooting a 77, Emily Franco an 81, Courtney Zietsman an 88, Casey Gilbert a 96, and Grace Duncan a 99. Kayli Quinton also was the first place medalist by three stokes with her amazing 77 at Falcon Point Golf Course. Way to go ladies and keep up the great work.

  10. Klein ISD Tournament – Gleannlock Pines - Kalyi Quinton won the tournament with a 70. The team won with a 316!! Kayli 70, Casey 78, Emily 82, Courtney 86, Grace 89, and medalist Lauryn 98. • Houston National – Cy Springs Tri-Meet - The two Cy Woods Girls Golf Teams swept the Houston National Cy-Springs Tri-Match yesterday. Kayli Quinton once again won the Tournament with a score of 74. Team 1 consisted of Kayli 74, Emily 95, Casey 96, Courtney92, and Grace 95. They won the tournament with a 356 team score and remain undefeated for the season. Team two took 2nd place with a score of 399 and that team consisted of Meghan Lund91, Kylee Stouder 99, Lauryn Vermaas 110, Molly Sweeney 99, and Sara Kruger 128. What an outstanding job these ladies have done! Go Wildcats • Sweetwater C.C. Clements Invitational - Once again the Lady Wildcat Golf team remains undefeated! They won the Clements Invitational to make five wins in a role with a team score of 342. Once again our young ladies took home individual medals; Kayli Quinton finished second and Emily Franco tied for fourth. We are so proud of you! The team consisted of Kayli Quinton, Emily Franco, Casey Gilbert, Courtney Zietsman, and Grace Duncan. They will be traveling to Eagle Point Golf Course next week for a major tournament! Way to go cats! You make Cy Woods #1.

  11. Cypress Lakes - The Varsity golf girls win again to remain undefeated for the season!! They won the Cypress Lakes Golf Invitational with a team score of 352. The team consisted of Kayli Quinton, Emily Franco, Casey Gilbert, Meghan Lund, and Courtney Zietsman. Kayli Quinton once again stole the show coming home with another tournament championship. Way to go ladies, keep up the hard work. They will be competing next Wednesday at Magnolia Creek!

  12. District Golf Tournament 2009 Jersey Meadows G.C. • Cy Woods, team 1, took first place at the district tournament with a 87 stoke difference. The team consisted of Kayli Quinton, Emily Franco, Casey Gilbert, Courtney Zietsman, and Grace Duncan. • Cy Woods, team 2, took third place at the district tournament. The team consisted of Meghan Lund, Lauryn Vermaas, Kylee Stouder, Molly Sweeney, and Lauryn Vermaas. • Kayli Quinton won District with a 79 and 75.

  13. Regional Tournament 2009 Cottonwood G.C. • The Girl’s golf team did at outstanding job at the Regional golf tournament this week. We took six wonderful girls with us and they finished 6th out of 16 teams. Congratulations to Kayli Quinton, Emily Franco, Casey Gilbert, Courtney Zietsman, Grace Duncan, and Meghan Lund. Kayli Quinton finished third and was just one stroke back from advancing to State. We are very proud of you! You make Cy Woods #1!

  14. 2010 Season • The girl’s golf team had a another great season with two very strong teams. • The gold team won the Houston Oaks Golf Tournament. They were 2nd at Hearthstone, Sweetwater, Cypress Lakes, and the Jersey Meadows Tri Meet. They took 3rd at Houston National, and Gleannlock (3rd in a three way tie for 1st). The silver team placed 3rd at Cypress Lakes and in the top five numerous times throughout the season. Arabella Cruz was the 1st place medalist at the magnolia Creek JV Tournament and Courtney Zietsman was the 3rd place medalist at Hearthstone.

  15. 2010 District Champions • The District Tournament was at Cypress Lakes Golf Course and the Wildcats played amazing. They finished strong with a 1st place team finish. The team consisted of Sophomore, Courtney Zietsman, Senior Casey Gilbert, Junior Emily Franco, Junior Grace Duncan, and Junior Meghan Lund. • For the fourth year in a row, these ladies advanced to the regional tournament.

  16. Extra Honors • We will be graduating five seniors this year. Casey Gilbert (4 yr. var. letterman), Caroline Guerrero (2nd year var. letterman) , Sara Kruger (2nd year var. letterman) , Kylee Stouder (4 yr var letterman), and Jordan Burns (1st year var. letterman). • MVP for 2010 will be Courtney Zietsman and the MVP Team is Courtney Zietsman, Senior Casey Gilbert, Junior Emily Franco, Junior Grace Duncan, and Junior Meghan Lund. • Courtney Zietsman is ranked 28th in the state of Texas amongst sophomores and 259th in the Nation! Emily Franco is ranked 47th in Texas and 351 in the Nation. • Kylee Stouder – Wall of Fame – National Merit Scholar

  17. 2011 A Season to Remember • Oakhurst Golf Tournament • Your Girls’ golf team has started strong. They competed in the Oakhurst Golf tournament yesterday and Emily Franco, Courtney Zietsman, Arabella Cruz, Meghan Lund, and Grace Duncan took home the 1st place team trophy. 1st place medalist was Emily Franco with an 80, 2nd place medalist was Courtney Zietsman with an 81, and 3rd place medalist was Arabella Cruz with an 86. Way to Wildcats, you make CY Woods #1.

  18. Announcements – Thursday Jan. 27th It is a great start for the Cy Woods girls’ golf team. Courtney Zietsman, Emily Franco, Arabella Cruz, Grace Duncan, and Meghan Lund took the first place team award at the Bear Creek Golf Tournament. Courtney Zietsman was the 1st place medalist with a 79 and Emily Franco was third with an 84. Congratulations girls we are proud of you! Announcement Tuesday Feb 8th Congratulations for the girls’ golf team who placed second at the Gleannloch Pines Invitational on Monday with a team score of a 338.   19. Sweetwater 2-14-11 Your spectacular girls’ golf team pulled off a big win at Sweetwater Country Club on Monday! Courtney Zietsman, Emily Franco, Arabella Cruz, Grace Duncan, and Meghan Lund took another tournament team win with a score of 353. Courtney Zietsman medals again and takes 2nd Place. It has been an incredible start to the season and these ladies continue to show their Wildcat spirit on the course. Way to go Ladies! Cypress Lakes 2-24-11 It was another great day for the girls’ golf team. Courtney Zietsman shot a 76, Grace Duncan 85, Emily Franco 87, Arabella Cruz 88, Meghan Lund 95 and they took home the 2nd place team medals. Courtney Zietsman’s 76 landed her the 2nd place medalist spot. We are very proud of you and all you have accomplished. Keep up the hard work girls!!   20. Houston Oaks 3-07-11 Your Cy Woods Lady Wildcat golfers do it again. At Houston Oaks the team placed 2nd with a team score of 346 and Courtney Zietsman took home the 3rd place medalist spot. These young ladies are doing a great job representing their school and we are so proud of them. Pine Forest was the last tournament before the girls kick off the District golf tournament. Courtney Zietsman shot a 86, Grace Duncan 97, Emily Franco 89, Arabella Cruz 84, Meghan Lund 108 and they took home the 2nd place team medals. Arabella Cruz shot a n84 which landed her the 3rd place medalist spot. Keep it up girls you are doing great!! 2011 Tournament Results

  21. District Tournament • District was held at Cypress Lakes Golf Course and the girls ended up 2nd place which advanced them to the regional tournament for the 5th year straight. • The team consisted of: • Courtney Zietsman – Jr. • Emily Franco – Sr. • Arabella Cruz – So. • Grace Duncan – Sr. • Meghan Lund – Sr. • Courtney Zietsman played amazing and shot a 75 on day one and then a 72 on day two. Courtney’s outstanding performance won her the 1st place Medalist District Championship!

  22. Seniors!! • Grace Duncan – Going to Texas Christian University, Graduating with Honors, and an AP Scholar. • Meghan Lund – Going to A&M University, Graduated with Honors, National charity league, NHS, Junior Representative for Student Council. • Emily Franco – Going to A&M, NHS, Invisible Children, FCA, is going to join the US Coast Guard.

  23. 2012 Golf Season • Jersey Meadows was a rain out and we got 9 holes in. The team placed 2nd. Courtney Arabella, Emma Lund Carly Stephenson and Julia Davenport • Heathstone – 1st place team and Courtney Zietsman was the 1st place medalist • Glennlock – 3rd place team and Arabella was the 3rd place medalist
