  9. Franklin D. Roosevelt • “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” was the famous quote Franklin D. Roosevelt or FDR is known for saying. He was born in Hyde park, New York in 1882. His family was very wealthy. They had a summer home in Canada. When he was14, he went to Groton Boarding Academy. At age 16 he was the school manager for the baseball team. • FDR was a great man in his adulthood. When he graduated from Harvard University, he went to Columbia Law School. In 1905 he married Eleanor Roosevelt. He was a superb senator and governor. From 1932 to 1944 he was a awesome president. In 1945 he died. • Franklin D. Roosevelt showed a great symbol of strength and courage. In 1921, he got struck with polio. He never could walk unaided again. He practiced for many hours to regain his arm strength. I would like to be FDR because he was president. He is the best president ever!
