  2. Mercury • A year on Mercury is 88 Earth-days long. • During the day temperatures can reach 800° F. • At night temperatures can drop to almost -300 F.

  3. Venus • Venus was named after Roman god who wore winged sandals. • Venus is 67 million miles from the Sun • Venus is the second planet from the sun

  4. Earth • Earth is the only planet that can support life. • Earth is the third planet from the Sun. • It takes Earth 365 Earth days to revolution.

  5. Mars • Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. • It is the seventh largest planet. • It takes Mars 687 days to revolve.

  6. Jupiter • Jupiter is the bigist planet in the solar system. • It is 483 million miles from the Sun. • Jupiter is a ball of gas with small rocky center.

  7. Saturn • Saturn is the a gas giant. • Saturn is the 6th planet from the Sun. • Saturn is the second largest planet .

  8. Uranus • Uranus rotates in a different kind of way it tilts on its side. • It has 5 large moons and 10 small moons. • Uranus too is one of the gas giant.

  9. Neptune • Neptune has high winds and many storms. • One day on Neptune is 16 earth hours. • Neptune is a large blue green ball of gas.

  10. Pluto • Pluto is the smallest planet in the solar system. • In 228 years Pluto moves in into Neptune orbit. • Pluto is called a dwarf planet because its so small.
