What is its momentum? • A marble is rolling down Mrs. Leiker’s paper towel tube ramp at a velocity of 1.5 m/s. It’s momentum is 0.1 kg.m/s. What is its mass? (change your answer to grams after. Move the decimal 3 spaces right) • A football was kicked through the uprights at a Bill’s game (wahoo!!). What is its speed if it had a momentum of 5 kg.m/s and a mass of 0.6 kg? • CHALLENGE PROBLEM!! A 4.5 kg ham was thrown into a shopping cart that had a mass of 15 kg. It was thrown with a speed of 2.2 m/s. At what speed will the shopping cart move? HINT: Find momentum of the ham first, and use that to find the speed of the cart!
