  3. Vision for CECD • Transitioning ASME members from students to early career to mid career • Expand ECE involvement in ASME on a global scale • Establish partnerships with international early career groups • Develop and support programs for early career engineers

  5. Key Insights from Research • Career advancement and networking services and opportunities are highly valued • ASME’s lack of strong relationships with industry hinders its ability to use this channel to reach early career engineers • ECEs spends ~36 hours/week online

  6. Key Insights from Research (2) • 95% of ECEs use the internet to get specification/product information • 94% of ECEs use the internet to get information on engineering topics • 89% of ECEs use the internet to get answers to engineering questions

  7. Support ECEs Need from the Old Guard • Continued support of ECF & ECTC programs • Currently re-evaluating the early career programs using a metric of effectiveness, value, and market penetration; once evaluation is complete, we look forward Old Guard support on future endeavors
