  3. What do trees decrease? • Trees decrease: • Pollen • Soil erosion • Topsoil • Water vapor • Ozone

  4. How trees can help • Trees breath in large amounts of carbon dioxide, one of the big greenhouse gases, and give out large amounts of oxygen. • This helps because carbon dioxide is decreased by a lot.

  5. Interesting fact! • Tree leaves have pores that catch smoke, ash, and dust. They send it down the trunk of the tree and into the ground.

  6. Stop chopping! • If people stopped chopping down trees it would help five times more! • People are distroying entire forests to build houses, cities, power lines, etc. • If people stopped taking them down we would not have to plant as many trees

  8. What is idling a car??? • If you idle your car, your car is parked and running. • You are probably waiting in car line, warming up a car or waiting on someone.

  9. Idling your car wastes natural resources, harms your Heath, and wastes money. • Because cars are used world wide, cars are the most popular polluter. • 30 seconds of idling a car is equal to turning a car and then back off agin.

  10. A car is made up of moving parts, so a parked car is not the proper way to warm your car. • The proper way to warm your car is to slowly drive it up and down the street

  13. What is Pay as You Trow? • This is a model that weighs your garbage, you are billed on how much your trash is. • This encourages people to recycle so there bill will be much much less. • And the recycling is free of cost!

  14. Pay As You Throw: • Pay As You Throw: a system under which residents pay for waste collection directly based on what they generated

  15. 4000 communities in the US use this program.

  16. Challenges: • Getting the mayor to adopt this program.
