  1. Trap Manifold design • Constraints • The traps had to be able to withstand 300 degrees Celsius for at least 3 hours. • The traps must be easily accessible. • The traps need to be easily exchangeable. • The trap need to have a shut-off valve so no air will leak out when disconnected from the device.

  2. Trap Manifold design • Contacted Swagelok Company for quick connects, manual valves, and reducers. • Quick connects were used so the traps could be easily swapped out for new traps. • The manual valve would cut-off the air to the traps so no air could leak out. • Reducers were used to reduced the diameter of the quick connects to the PEEK tubing. The PEEK tubing has a diameter of 1/16 of an inch and the quick connect has a diameter of 3/8 inch, quick connects are not made to change diameter form the connection end to the stem end. So reducers are needed to change the diameter from 1/16 to 3/8 of an inch.

  3. Trap Manifold design • display of parts • pictures (CAD) of the traps and trap manifold • The trap manifold itself was designed after the height of the traps (valve also) was determined. • demonstration of replacing the traps
