  23. Meaning • Yagya is a sanskrit word that has three meanings • Divinity : refined personality, divine virtues • Organization : unity, cooperation, team spirit • Charity : generous sharing, devotion to society and considering the whole universe as one’s own family

Why Yagya? • Yagya acts as purohit and inspires people in achieving all round progress, happiness and peace • Ideals and philosophy of yagya have to be lived for changing the present era and building a bright future • Emergence of Brahman element in man is possible only by followng the teachings of Yagya.

Yagya: A Purohit • Hot and Bright : inspires to lead bright, radiant, active life full of wisdom and brilliance • Flame goes upward : our wisdom and foresight should always be kept alight and upturned despite any amount of fear or temptation • Anything in fire’s contact becomes fire : anyone coming in our contact should become refined by the quality of excellence of our character

Yagya: A Purohit • Fire accumulates nothing : like fire vaporizes and scatters any offering, we should also utilize our resource and qualities for advancing societal good • Residue of fire are ashes : man should always remember the inevitability of death and utilize every moment to the best possible manner
