  4. Topic Sentence • Tells what the paragraph will be about. • Contains main topic of paper and topic word from outline. • May also contain topic word from previous paragraph.

  6. Relevance of topic sentence • Green is used for many things. One important green thing is money.

  7. Supporting Detail (from card) • Webster’s Dictionary states that green is “[t]he hue of the portion of the visible spectrum between yellow and blue, evoked in the human observer by radiant energy with wavelengths of approx. 490 to 570 nanometers” (596).
