  2. DO NOT: Use Too Much Text • Why you shouldn’t put too much text on one slide • Too much text will confuse your audience • You audience will lose their interest on your presentation • It is hard to recognize text from a long paragraph This page contains too many words for a presentation slide. It is not written in point form, making it difficult both for your audience to read and for you to present each point. Although there are exactly the same number of points on this slide as the previous slide, it looks much more complicated. In short, your audience will spend too much time trying to read this paragraph instead of listening to you.

  3. DO NOT: Use Bad Colors • This is hard to read • This hard too • Light color on white background are very hard on the eyes • This is very easy to read.

  4. DO NOT: Use Fancy Transitions Do not use transitions that are not necessary Too many fancy transitions will annoy your audience sometimes. At most time, Flying text is not necessary.

  5. Do: Use Chart and Tables • You can also add some text to make the graph easier to comprehend.

  6. DO: Use Bullets • Bullets are simple • Bullets are great • People love bullets • People hate bullets like this: • There • Are • Too • Many • Options • In • The • List • Make • The • List • Nonsense • Keep 3-6 bullets in one slide.

  7. DO: Make a Conclusion/Summary • Keep the presentation simple • Do Not use bad colors • Avoid unnecessary transitions • Use charts and tables • Remind your audience of key points at the end of the presentation

  8. DO: Ask Your Audience a Question • How do you think about my PowerPoint? • How do you want to improve it?
