Chapter-1 • Navigate a document using shortcuts • Page Break : • Soft Page Break is inserted when text fills an entire page, then continues on to next page • Hard Page Break forces the next part of the document to begin on a new page ( Ctrl + Enter or Insert Tab -> Page Break ). • Using Show / hide option Observe page break • Insert page number: Go to Insert Tab -> Page Number • Adding Cover Page: Go to Insert Tab -> Cover Page • Page Margins: Go to Page Layout Tab - > Margins • Header and Footer: Go to Insert Tab -> Header / Footer --Header and Footer Design Tab:

Chapter -2 -Text formatting rules • Change Text Appearance: Use Font options and Dialog box • Non Breaking Spaces (Ctrl + Shift + Space) : Keeps two or more words together on a line • Non Breaking Hyphens (Ctrl + Shift + Hyphen) : Prevents a word from becoming separated at the Hyphen. • Highlighting text :Go to Home Tab -> Highlight Text Color (in Font)

Chapter -2 -Paragraph Formatting features • Justification And Line Spacing: Go to Home Tab • Indent: First line Indent andHanging Indent First Go to View: Select Ruler Now you will have Horizontal and Vertical Rulers On the Horizontal Ruler you will fine First line Indent and Hanging Indents, which represents from where the text has to start in paragraph.

  11. Chapter -2 -Styles • Style Properties: Home Tab -> Style Section • Style pane options: • Columns: Go to Page Layout -> Columns (Page Setup Section) --To Display data in two or more columns.

Chapter -3 –Document Revisions • Change Username and Track Changes Options: Go to Review Tab -> Tracking Section and Click on Track Changes ( Markup, Balloons) • View, Add, Delete Comments: Review Tab -> Comments Section Add comments, How to Replace a word, so that author can know mistakes!...........select word and write the correct word Note: Make Sure that Track Changes Option is selected.

  17. Chapter -3 –Document Revisions • Accept And Reject Changes: If any Changes are made during previous section. Now one can accept or reject changes made by some other. If accepted, it automatically replaces the correct word or modifications such as styles, font, color etc.

  18. Chapter -3 –Research Paper Basics • Create and Search For a Source: -> You have to add Citations (Note recognizing a source of information or a quoted passage) for your work. -> Create a Sources for Citations. Go to References Tab-> Citations and Bibliography Section

Chapter -3 –Research Paper Basics • Bibliography: List of works cited or consulted by an author in a document. • Choose any one Bibliography Style and insert Bibliography at the end of document. • Create and modify Footnotes: Footnote is a citation that appears at the bottom of page. • Note : Endnote appears at the end of a document
