  1. Roman soldiers This is going to be a short 5 slide presentation. I will be telling and showing u things about the Roman empire!

  2. A short list of ranks and their roles Equites (cavalry) Velites (light infantry) Heavy infantry(calamari) Legatus Augusti pro praetore(Imperial Legate) The commander of two or more legions. Legatuslegionis(Legion Legate)The overall legion commander. Tribunuslaticlavius(Broad Band Tribune)  Named for the broad striped tunic worn by men of senatorial rank, this tribune was appointed by the emperor or the Senate. Praefectuscastrorum, Camp Prefect: The Camp Prefect was third in command of the legion. Tribuniangusticlavii, Narrow Band Tribunes: Each legion had five lower ranking tribunes who were normally from the equestrian class and had at least some years of prior military experience.

  3. Roman battle strategy Roman calamari would build up a two legion line with archer auxiliary behind guarded by roman gladiators or slaves. Along with spear groups marching to their left and right and regular Roman legionary behind to guard from a counter while the archers target lone groups of enemies.

  4. Regular archer auxiliary Archer auxiliary were the heart of a legion. Having the jobs of targeting over roman legionary and other groups of soldiers they had to hit directly or risk a major loss for the legion as a whole.

  5. Centurions Centurions were the field commander of a legion. They fought side by side with their soldiers to increase moral and show their prowess in many hand to hand and sword combat situations.

  6. LEGATES The legate has two different areas in the legion, As the legion commander and sometimes took the place of a Centurions which are a field commander. Legates usually show their power with a gladious, a short fast sword.
