ESTABLISHING CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HAND WASHING AND DIARRHEA • TREATMENT GROUP : NOT PRACTICING HAND WASHING • CONTROL GROUP : PRACTICING HAND WASHING • BOTH GROUPS SHOULD HAVE WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS HAND WASHING • ON FINDING THAT HAND WASHING REDUCED INCIDENCE OF DIARRHEA, THE GOVERNMENT DECIDES TO LAUNCH THE PROGRAM
