Take home message • Despiteongoingresearchforseveraldecades, manualchestcompressionremains the gold standard meanstoperformcardiac massage. • Mechanicaldeviceshaveseveraladvantages in comparisontomanualchestcompression. • High-qualityevidenceisstilllacking and a selecteduseofthesedevicesis the safestapproachuntilongoingtrials (e.g. CIRC, LINC and PARAMEDIC) are complete.
