  3. Raise money for the Phyllis Kavanaugh Scholarship Fund • Sell products that are ethically and sustainably produced • Help farmers and communities in the developing world • Spread the word about fair trade products WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?

  4. Purchasing these products has a direct, positive impact on farming families and forest areas in the developing world. • The purchase raises approximately 40% profits. • The prices are comparable to what you would pay for in the grocery or retail stores. • Many of the products are what people buy anyway (i.e. coffee, tea, wrapping paper, soaps, chocolate, candy bars). SELLING POINTS AND TIPS

  5. Tell people WHY we are fundraising. • Don’t sell to people you do not know. Don’t sell door-to-door. • YOU have to deliver the items to the people you sell to. • Do not ask your teachers, but have the form available in case they ask you. • Be polite. • Be assertive, but not pushy. • If someone says “no,” still thank them for their time. • Cash is fine, but NO coins. • Checks MUST be made out to Rose Tree media School District • All prices include tax and shipping. • Write neatly and keep an organized form. • Try and order coffee, tea, and cocoa in increments of 6. • Try and order chocolate bars in increments of 12.
