  • Thailand is renowned for agricultural and food export.
  • There are approximately 9,000 food factories and

40,000 rice mills.

  • 85% of food factories in Thailand are small- scale operators.
  • They produce food for domestic consumption, export markets, and supply food ingredients, raw materials and packaging materials to the food chain.

  • Legislative /customer requirements with regard to
  • product safety.
  • The majority of the food processing plants,
  • which are small manufacturers, have not implemented
  • PRP,HACCP systems.
  • At present, they are alert to implement and acquire
  • certification of GMP/HACCP system.
