  2. Description • This non-profit organization is Maryland based. They're set out to apply sustainable development projects around the world. These meet local needs and are community focused, financially healthy, and environmentally friendly. They utilize many sustainable technologies including distributed generation & combined heat and power, solar power technologies, straw board, TerraBuilt earth brick manufacturing, a geographic information system, and the waste water reclamation & reuse system. Their project efforts are implemented in the USA, China, Africa, Pakistan, and the Caribbean. In the USA ICSD has released the most comprehensive study of energy efficiency & renewable energy ever done in Maryland and their efforts continue in "the greening of Baltimore." Projects for China include the Guanghan model sustainable village and greening Beijing for the Olympics. In Africa they are implementing international low-cost housing and sustainable community development. Pakistan is undergoing post-flood reconstruction and redevelopment. Self-sufficient, survivable affordable housing is being implemented in the Caribbean. The projects also involve renewable energy for developing countries. These include a African Development Project, Latin American & Caribbean Development Project, and an Asia-Pacific Region Project. The site was created to inform and has valuable information pertaining to the missions, goals, and projects of the non-profit organization. • The navigation includes the home page, about ICSD, projects, earth home, technologies, downloads, links, and contact ICSD. There is a fairly great amount of information in this relatively compact site. • I've decided to go with earthy color schemes that reflect the earth and the efforts made by the organization. The site already has an earthy color palette but it fits the tone and feel of the site. • Their efforts and attention to these important matters personally interests me so I've decided to pursue the redesign of this organizations website.
