  18. Zoroastrianism • Founded in the 6th century B.C. by the prophet Zoroaster in modern-day Iran. • The creator is Ahura Mazda, who is ALL GOOD. Nothing evil exists in him. • AngraMainyu (or Ahriman) is the chaotic or destructive principle. • Underlying philosophy is of dualism, or Manicheaism: everything in the universe is balanced by its opposite Zoroaster Ahura Mazda Ahriman everything in the universe is balanced by its opposite
