  1. The marriage supper of The Lamb

  2. 1 Corinthians 11: The L-rd’s supper • 23. For I received from the L-rd that which I also delivered to you, that the L-rd Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; • 24. and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me." • 25. In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." • 26. For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the L-rd's death until He comes.

  3. Until He comes … Rev 19: • 6. Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, "Hallelujah! For the L-rd our G-d, the Almighty, reigns. • 7. "Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." • 8. It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. • 9. Then he said to me, "Write, `Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.' " And he said to me, "These are true words of G-d."

  4. Who is invited? Luke 22: • 14. When the hour had come, He reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him. • 15. And He said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; • 16. for I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” • Contrary to popular belief, Passover was NOT (entirely) fulfilled by Jesus’ death and resurrection …

  5. The Jewish engagement ceremony: • The bride waits in her chamber. • Groom knocks on the door of the bridal chamber: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with her, and she with me.” (Rev. 3:20)  • The bride opens the door and welcomes the groom.

  6. “I will come in and eat with her” • The groom steps into the room and veils the bride. The couple walks to the dinning room and the legal marriage contract is signed. The groom shares bread with the bride and says: "This is my body given for you”. He then shares wine with her and says: "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you”. (Luke 22:19-20)

  7. I am coming again • The groom turns to the bride and says: “Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in G-d; trust also in me. In my father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:1-3)

  8. Until He comes … • The bride returns to her chamber (with her parents) and the groom to his (with his parents). The bride’s attendants wait outside her chamber and the groomsmen wait outside the groom’s chamber. The father of the groom gives the word when he sees fit and the wedding party begins with a loud shout and the blowing of the shofar. • 32"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven (the groomsmen) , nor the Son (the groom), but only the Father. 33Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. (Mark 13) • 16. For the L-rd Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the shofar of G-d, and the dead in Christ will rise first (1 Thess. 4).

  9. If you have taken communion … • Congratulations! You are legally engaged according to Jewish Law! Mazaltov! • Remember that Jewish engagement is a legally binding contract only reversed by an official divorce. • Our relationship with Jesus is not an illustration of Earthly marriage. Marriage is merely a shadow of our relationship to Him. Taking communion is more significant, lasting and binding than marriage between a man and a woman. • The Passover Covenant also brings more lasting joy and security than any physical marriage could ever provide! As a matter of fact marriage should be rooted FIRST in this Covenant.

  10. `Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb’
